great goalies grant

Hockey has the power to shape lives, build character, create lifelong friendships, and teach lessons that extend far beyond the rink. But as the cost of participation continues to rise, access to the game is becoming increasingly difficult for many families.

The Great Goalies Grant, an initiative of Zalabak Hockey Group, was created to help address that challenge by providing financial assistance to goaltenders and families facing the growing costs of playing hockey.

Designed to support the next generation of goaltenders, the grant helps eligible athletes with expenses such as league fees and goaltending equipment. Additional tuition assistance is available for eligible college-aged Chicago Hawks goaltenders and Goaltending Academy alumni.

But Great Goalies is about more than financial support. We believe that being a great goaltender means more than stopping pucks. It means understanding the history of the position, appreciating those who came before you, contributing to your community, and helping create opportunities for those who will follow.

Through a commitment to community service and age-appropriate educational assignments focused on goaltending history, applicants are encouraged to connect with the game beyond the ice and recognize their role in preserving its future.

Our goal is simple: help keep hockey within reach, reward meaningful contributions, and ensure that financial barriers don't prevent deserving young athletes from pursuing their passion.

Because growing the game means more than developing better players. It means creating opportunities, strengthening communities, and making sure the next generation has the chance to experience everything hockey has to offer.

Give back to the game. Open the door for the next generation.
